What we do
SDSS provides:
- Information events and peer support for members
- Partnership working with other national and local organisations and agencies
- Self Directed Support best practice resources
SDSS is currently working on two projects, funded by the Scottish Government, as follows:-
Fit for purpose
A three year project, funded by the Scottish Government.
Year 1 -Time to Think
A capacity building training programme developed with and for SDSS members to enable them to operate effectively as Self Directed Support Organisations.
Year 2 - Preparing for Change
Enabling SDSS to develop a cohesive identity for Disabled People's Organisations as well as an overarching community strategy.
Year 3 -Moving Forward
Capacity building to develop support organisations in areas where there is no local support as well as building upon the emerging community.
In the Know
A Scottish Government funded project, the aim of which is to raise awareness, through free training, of Self Directed Support within Local Authorities and Health Boards in Scotland, and Advocacy Organisations.
This project closed at the end of August 2011. Please contact Maggie if you wish to read the final report.
