Self-Directed Support Scotland (SDSS)

Free training on SDS for advocacy organisations

SDS Awareness raising project

Our ability to raise awareness of Self Directed Support amongst Advocacy organisations is crucial if disabled people are to be given a broader range of opportunities to live independent lives.  This project is about increasing understanding of Self Directed Support amongst advocacy organisations.

With the assistance of the Independent Advocacy Alliance (SIAA), SDSS has identified contacts in the various advocacy organisations across Scotland.  SDSS membership organisations have helped to put together useful case study information for the project.

Support Organisations are a valuable resource in enabling individuals to access Self Directed Support, and SDSS encourages Advocacy organisations to make links with the local Support Organisation.

Some training has already been rolled out already, with more planned for the start of 2010.
