On 28th June SDSS held an event in Glasgow to bring members together with representatives from Disclosure Scotland, as part of the ongoing PVG Scheme Review. Notes from this session are available below:SDSS PVG Session 180628
As part of the consultation Disclosure Scotland have also produced a supporting document which can be accessed here. SDSS have also prepared a briefing document with further information about this consultation, which can be found here.
The deadline for feedback is 18th July and we are still actively seeking your views on the following key questions, to ensure our consultation response fully reflects the views of our members:
- Should the role of Personal Assistant be included on the list of Protected Roles?
- Should the proposed mandatory nature of the scheme also apply to Personal Assistants?
- Should PA Employers have access to criminal records information about their Personal Assistants?
SDSS will submit a full response based on the notes attached and any further responses we receive. We are accepting these responses over email. We also encourage you to respond to the consultation yourself as well if you feel you have time. Remember, you don’t have to answer all 90+ questions – you can just focus on the ones you feel are most relevant! You can respond online here.
