Thursday 12 November
10am – 10:30am Members only
10:30am – 12:30pm Open to all

‘Paving the way’ is Self Directed Support Scotland’s (SDSS) first major online event which features our 2020 AGM and showcases three major elements in influencing change and reform of Adult Social Care.

This year has seen some incredible examples of social care delivery. However, it has also seen some major challenges, and with the release of important studies and the current review of adult social care, now is the time to ensure we’re doing everything we can to ensure the true implementation of Self-Directed Support.

The online event is an opportunity to discuss the work of SDSS over the last 12 months, highlight key achievements and challenges, especially due to COVID-19, and for members to have a say about the future work and governance of SDSS. The event is also an opportunity for our membership to engage directly with the current Review of Adult Social Care through our keynote speaker, Derek Feeley, Chair of the independent review.

The formal members only AGM will begin at 10am and finish at 10.30am.

Following this, anyone can join the conversation for presentations and live Q&As from:

  • Lucy Mulvagh – Director of Policy & Communications at the Health & Social Care Alliance Scotland – My Support, My Choice
  • Derek Feeley – Chair of the Independent Review of Adult Social Care
  • Ailsa McAllister – Social work Scotland – Standards for SDS

This event will have BSL interpreters and if you have any other accessibility requirements, such as translators, please email info@sdsscotland.org.uk

Support for registering online is available on 0131 475 2623 from 9.30am until 4:30pm.
