New publication: ‘PA Checklist – A Tool for Assessing Personal Assistance Schemes.’

In November and December 2018, the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) piloted the PA Checklist – a new tool designed for assessing personal assistance (PA) schemes from the perspective of independent living. The checklist was created by ENIL to help advocates around the world to fight for better PA and to monitor the implementation of Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Although the UK is examined as a whole, rather than looking at Personal Assistant employment in Scotland specifically, the report offers a range of interesting information and a blank copy of the tool in order to assess personal assistant schemes.
