SAVE THE DATE – SDS National Voice 2021

January 20, 2021

We’re delighted to confirm that our annual National Voice conference will be taking place on Wednesday 17 March 2021.

This year, following COVID-19 advice and guidance, the event will take place online, however you’ll still have the opportunity to attend workshops and network thanks to our selected platform.

Last year’s event was a roaring success with 136 delegates from a broad range of sectors and backgrounds across Scotland in attendance. ‘SDS National Voice: Common Ground’, took place at The Centre for Technology and Innovation at Strathclyde University and gave delegates the chance to hear directly from user-led organisations and people with lived experience. Following a performance from GDA’s fantastic Purple Poncho Players, Self Directed Support Scotland (SDSS) launched a powerful case study about independent support and offered delegates 14 different workshop choices, with a focus on collective working and developing positive conversations around social care. Additionally, delegates heard about key developments in Self-directed Support (SDS) policy including the new National Framework from Social Work Scotland and the Social Care Inquiry that was being conducted by The Health and Sport Committee at Scottish Parliament.

You can view the event report here.

‘SDS National Voice 2021’ will focus on quality and the trending topics in social care, giving you the chance to explore what matters most to you. The event theme and programme are being finalised and will be shared in due course.

Tickets for the event will be on sale soon, but in the meantime please put the date in your diary.

Wednesday 17 March 2021
