May 8, 2020

The Scottish Government

On 7th May 2020, Communities Secretary Aileen Campbell announced a new £5 million programme will offer an internet connection, training and support, and a laptop or tablet to vulnerable people who are not already online during the response to coronavirus (COVID-19). Full information about the ‘Connecting Scotland’ programme can be found here.

This programme delivered by the Scottish Government, in partnership with local authorities, Healthcare Improvement Scotland, The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and the digital and IT sectors led by ScotlandIS.

Organisations that currently work with people or households that are digitally excluded, on a low income and at extremely high risk of severe illness from coronavirus (COVID-19) are able to get in touch to offer their support in identifying those who could benefit from this scheme. As many of our members will be working with people from the above groups, we encourage you to get involved, who can complete the relevant form here.
