A workshop to explore eligibility criteria for Self Directed Support, how it's applied in practise, how it works for an adult, child & carer
Every Local Authority can set their own eligibility criteria for social care support, for both adult and children’s services. Local Authorities can also describe their eligibility criteria in different ways.
This workshop will explore how eligibility is defined, the variation that people might encounter at a local level and how to relate this criteria to someone’s own circumstances when they are having an assessment of their needs.
We will consider eligibility criteria for adults, children and carers, how eligibility needs to be relevant to anyone’s condition, disability or circumstances and how to support someone to question or challenge the application of criteria to their individual circumstances.
