Date: 16 September 2025
Time: 10am - 12.30pm

A workshop to explore how children's needs are identified and met through the GIRFEC process and how this relates to Self Directed Support.
For children, young people and their families, the approach to identifying and meeting children’s needs is called Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC). This provides a structure for professionals and families to help support children’s well-being and development. This workshop will explore what GIRFEC means in practice and will look at areas such as:
• Children and Young people’s eligibility for support
• The use of the My World Triangle
• The application of the SHANARRI well-being Indicators
• The Well-Being Wheel and the Resilience and Vulnerability Matrix
• The role of the Child’s Plan and the Lead Professional
• How needs can be identified and met for both children and their families
• How unpaid carers needs are recognized and supported
There are discounted tickets available for anyone working or volunteering for a member organisation.
