Membership Terms & Conditions

Membership fees (2026-27)

SDSS membership fees contribute towards membership administration, member support, communications, learning opportunities and collective influence.

Organisational fees include a standard £28 administration contribution and an additional contribution based on annual income. This allows larger organisations to contribute more while maintaining affordable fees for smaller organisations.

Our current fees are:

Total annual organisational income  Annual membership fee
£1,500,000+  Contact us to discuss
£1,000,000-£1,499,00  £228
£500,000–£999,999  £128
£300,000–£499,999  £88
£200,000–£299,999  £68
£100,000–£199,999  £48
£50,000–£99,999  £38
£0–£49,999  £28

How we determine your income band

Use the total annual income shown in your organisation’s most recently approved annual accounts. The published fee for the relevant band is fixed for the membership year; we do not calculate a separate percentage from each member’s exact income.

Where approved accounts are unavailable, the organisation is part of a larger legal entity, or the latest accounts do not fairly reflect normal annual income, please contact SDSS so that we can agree the appropriate band.

Renewal and payment

Membership is renewed annually. The renewal invitation and invoice will confirm the membership category, income band, fee and payment date. Members should tell SDSS promptly about any material change in their organisational status or income band.

Financial difficulty

Cost should not prevent an eligible organisation from participating in the SDSS network. Members experiencing financial difficulty may contact us confidentially to discuss instalments, a reduction or a waiver.

Ending membership

Members may end their membership by notifying SDSS in writing. Membership fees are not normally refundable after renewal unless SDSS agrees otherwise in exceptional circumstances.

Review of fees

SDSS may review membership fees periodically. Members will be notified before any revised fees apply.
