Budgeting for Outcomes and Fair Work with CCPS
The Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland (CCPS) Event
‘Budgeting for Outcomes and Fair Work’
Date: 27 October
Time: 10am -1pm
The Independent Review of Adult Social Care 2021 made recommendations for significant and transformational changes to the way that social care is designed, planned and funded in Scotland. The review also made recommendations for embedding fair work principles in commissioning and contracting of social care and the need to support financial sustainability of providers.
Join us for our Budgeting for Outcomes and Fair Work online event where we will discuss the human economic cost model, fair work and the real cost of delivering care.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss practical solutions to key issues regarding funding for social care, moving to budgeting for outcomes and the difference this could make to people receiving support.
Speakers will include: Fraser McKinlay, Director at McKinlay Associates (and formerly of Audit Scotland) who will discuss the work he has being doing with The Promise and the Human Economic Cost Model. Andy Kerr, Executive Adviser – Government Relations (Social Care and Fair Work) at Enable Group will discuss Fair Work, where we are to today and where we want to get to in the future.
Outcomes for participants:
- increased knowledge of how to improve commissioning and procurement
- increased understanding of how to shift from a focus on processes to outcomes
- increased understanding of importance of collaboration and involvement of other stakeholders
Who should attend:
This event is for senior leaders working in social care for public authorities in finance, Chief Officers, procurement and commissioning roles, third sector support providers, Scottish Government, disabled people’s organisations and other national partners.
